David Gray is a contemporary artist living just outside New York City in Rye, New York. Besides painting, David also balances a career in the film industry. So, when he’s not on set shooting, he can most likely be found in his studio painting.
David’s creativity started at an early age, drawing and painting as much as he could as a child. He was selected to the New York State Summer School of the Arts — a highly selective program that brings together the best high school artists in the state for an intensive, summer-long studio study. David then went on to study Fine Arts and Design at Syracuse University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelors’s Degree in Fine Arts.
For David it’s all about the creative process, both in film and the art world. He describes it as invigorating as it is liberating. His approach to most of what he does in both fields is creative collaboration. Whether it’s on set, creating a piece of art for a private collector’s home/office or working with an Interior Designer, David enjoys the process of bringing things to life collaboratively. Which has produced the work that you see here on this site.
If you have something specific in mind, or see a piece that is no longer available here, David can create something similar. He often collaborates with collector’s by looking at their space, their personal taste and their needs to create custom pieces that are just right for their needs. David’s goal is to bring life to any environment by creating original artwork and making it affordable for everyone.
